I’m From Memory Road, Sad thoughts that roam in my head; The harsh words I can’t forget that she said.

I'm from regretted actions from part of my past,

From wishing to start over because

"Life went by so fast."

I’m from unspeakable actions Because she refused to move on,

From frequently crying all day long…

I’m from short—yet happy times That eventually led to pain, From running away from problems And never feeling the same.

I’m from “Go away!” “Why won’t you ever love me!” and simply “Leave.” From shouting and hearing things You wouldn’t believe.

From kissing to hugging,
From pestering and bugging,
From ignoring and shunning…

I’m From Memory Road and that’s where I’ll keep on running.
